Transforming Emotions: How to liberate the negative mood states into the positive.

In this ten-week evening class, you will study Western and Eastern approaches to emotion, and learn tools for transforming your mood states. For millennia the meditators of the East have gained useful insights into the constantly changing states of our emotions, and how to work with them to awaken consciousness. More recently, Western science has contributed psychological models of our emotions, which give us a basis for managing them and understanding their role in our lives. We will study these various approaches to making sense of our ongoing moods and emotions. You will be taught meditation practices and psychological tools to help you manage your problematic emotions and develop positive mood states. You will also come to see that in understanding the basis of, and freeing up our emotions, we become more spontaneous and balanced in our everyday actions; we are able to respond creatively to the ever more complex challenges of our world. Click here for more information.
